Purchased 02/01/24 DC99 4.3 262 truck motor from O`Relley Auto Parts.Motor installed in a 40yr. sea worthy lake boat.
After restoring the boat with DC99 installed.02/11/25 first start of the boat and within 6-8 mins. metal noises clinking sounds from the motor with water inlet hooked up, shut-down killed motor the right away! Motor semi locked up was able to free up and did a compression test #6 zero compression. All other cylinders 120pds. did leak down test also. The bottom end let go.(broken rings or piston or whatever?) say they will honor it and after a couple weeks of run-a-round then said we wont honor the warranty you installed in a marine appilcation same motor came out of the boat!
Truck motor/Marine motor is the same except for the drain plugs which I installed.
They supplied a faulity motor with zero usage and wont honor there warranty. If you do bad make it right that what a real American will do.

Verified ReviewerTerrible Warranty
Bought a reman engine from Oreillys. Started it up and can not get rid of a ticking sound.
Did they put used lifters in this engine? Now I have to take it apart and fix it and hope to get reimbursed. Or take it to a shop and have them do it for $50 an hour that is covered under warranty. Maybe in the 1980s shops were charging that amount.
I now regret buying from this company. I could've rebuilt the original engine with less hassle.
This is B.S. !!!
- Hoping their product is good quality
- Having to redo the work i was trying to avoid by buying a reman engine
Preferred solution: Price reduction
User's recommendation: Buy elsewhere
Junk Engine

Verified ReviewerLabor reimbursement denied
After less than 100 miles, the vehicle was taken in for an oil leak. A certified mechanic found metal in the oil pan.
Upon further inspection, they found a scorched cylinder wall and loose connecting rods.
Reimbursement for labor was pending the inspection of the returned motor. Mark denied us, saying the engine was not defective even though we provided pictures and video.

Preferred solution: Partial Reimbursement for labor to exchange motor

Verified Reviewer |Poor quality
These engines are absolute JUNK! I have taken out & installed THREE motors in my 94 Jeep YJ.
The first two DRANK oil, fouled my plugs, & overall anyone can easily tell quality control with these folks is non-existent. The third engine ran good for 70 miles.
Then developed a miss. Cylinder #1 intake lifter failed along with the camshaft.
User's recommendation: NEVER buy an engine from these folks. Rebuild yours with a reputable engine guy & save yourself some grief!
Horrible transmission and company as a whole
STAY AWAY, their transmissions are junk and their warranty only covers a $50 an hour labor rate, so you'll be stuck with an expensive repair. I only had 500 miles on my transmission when it started leaking fluid.
I needed a pump seal and converter.
I was left with a $700 bill when they covered their $400. Again, STAY AWAY.
User's recommendation: Don’t buy from them
I bought an engine from power torque and when my mechanic started the engine it was knocking after a month they swapped out the engine and the second 5.3 GM motor is also knocking. Here we go ahead
No, we start sending the photo videos again. What a train wreck.
I will keep you posted. Meanwhile, I haven't had a vehicle in over 3 months.
- First and second motors knocking on initial start up at the shop
Preferred solution: I want an upgrade to the performance package or a 6.0 engine because bett quality parts are used in those applications. If not an upgrade I want a full refund plus my core money from my initial motor
User's recommendation: Do not buy from these people
These people are a joke I can't beleive I considered this company for my engine replacement. This company has nothing but terrible reveiws.y new engine
This company is terrible, i wasted time considering this joke of a engine rebuilder. I haven't seen 0 GOOD REVEIW!
WASTED TIME. GO BACK TO SCHOOL.

Verified Reviewer |Two so called marine engines 5.7
Bought 2 - 5.7L Marine engine from local O'Reilly's when arrived and was picked up big dent in left bank valve cover but didn't realize unlit unpacking crate 2 weeks later to start installing in yacht. Clearly done from factory because plastic bag wasnt tore or crushed there.
Secondly after installing Both engine. After 7 hours on one and 9 hours on other began seeing oil slick in bilge. Then cleaned it good again then took it out for the weekend 2 hours later looked again and there was a trail of oil under both engines. Talk to O'Reilly's and by no surprise here call this number for warranty.
Oh I see what's coming. Exactly oh hey give us pictures and start warranty claim. Well 50 bucks an hour they have an $800 total on labor to repair. Tell me one shop that only charges 50 bucks an hour.
Geez so went to O'Reilly's told them I will remove engines I want money back unsatisfied because they all guarantee I would be happy and no problems. Well knowing GM engines since the 50s timing chain covers have been major weakness for oil leaks and throughout time still GM still couldn't get it right. In saying that the 5.7 Vortex was worse with oil leaks around plastic covers. So they said they would warranty them send info Without pulling engines at 9 hours each plus a large forklift due to Radar Arch Tried changing out 3 times without being able to pull oil pans and do right each plastic covers no time came back to leaking.
Finally got tired of messing with O'Reilly's and cheap Dorman covers went to solid aluminum covers from Summit Racing. Now fixed can't get any reply from LKQ/Power Torque which is their company.
Junk don't buy stay away. Find better source because warranty is No GoodGoodstay away from O'Reilly's and Power Torquestay
- Engines come in a crate
- Warranty and quality
- Leak oil
- Dont stand behind their product
Preferred solution: I want paid for time lost and time repairing the right way.

Had a 3 year warranty on a 2009 5.4 litre engine. A year and a half into it engine lights started coming on.
I would take it to my mechanic. He would run a scan and it would read a problem but it was not detectable. This happened over the next year and half where finally my mechanic finally replace a cellinoid. It said they though that should fix it.
Again after a few they engine grew sluggish one day. After taking my truck back to my mechanic, he informed me they had to put a new cam in it. Should be there days. I rented a truck so I could work.
Second day I was informed Power torgue sent a cam that did not fit because it was too big. My mechanic said that I was getting a new engine. After paying three weeks of rental car at $950, my car was finished. My mechanic said it looked like I never changed the oil.
I said to him I've had cars for 40 years and never neglected maintenance of a vehicle. He said they might not pay for my new engine because of neglect. I paid $6500 for my last engine, drive a lot showing real estate, am 57 years old, have had 12 cars and now I choose not to maintain my vehicle? Now Power Torgue is not paying my mechanic or For my engine.
Now remember the engine is in my truck and was in when told they might not cover it because of sludge build up. Do not use O'Reillys or Power Torgue engines unless you want to be filling one of these out. I have now hired an attorney to deal with this.
I am also contact the better business bureau. By the way I was told they were extending my warranty but now say they gave no record of it.
Preferred solution: Cover full warranty
